Levar Harper-Griffith, 26
Brooklyn, NY
Co-Founder of Global Tennis Foundation
Levar saw for himself at a very early age how tough it would be to succeed without the conventional resources necessary. Levar was supported by his single mother who did what she could to keep him playing tennis if it meant taking extra jobs and working over time. Thanks to her hard work Levar was afforded a very notable junior career reaching # 1 in the USA and top 15 in the world. Levar than joined the professional ranks reaching top 200 in the world struggling to survive on the road and stay healthy without the proper support. Through his experiences Levar has revived his own career in 2008 while building an organization to see that other athletes don’t face the obstacles he faced coming up without the family support to afford a proper chance.
